Description of Program
The only AAFP-selected p4 residency in the state of Iowa. An innovative curriculum that emphasizes 'The New Model of Care' utilizing a non-rotational format in the 2nd and 3rd years, group visits and virtual office visits. Eight years of EMR data provides an effective quality improvement experience. Outstanding faculty with a full-time clinical pharmacist and behavioral scientist. All in a family-friendly community with outstanding schools.
Location(s) of program: Recent international elective rotations have been in China, Thailand, French Guyana, Peru and South Africa.
Description of field experience: Residents are able to pursue international experiences of their choice in a variety of locales, typically for 3 to 6 weeks.

Description of faculty involvement: Faculty established and available to assist in planning and coordinating experience. Faculty oversee to ensure an evaluation of the resident is completed by an on-site preceptor. Residents encouraged to do a presentation/conference about their experience when they return.
