The Department of Family & Community Medicine invites incoming residents to apply for participation in the Global Health Track, a focus-area curriculum for residents interested in learning about care of vulnerable populations at home and abroad.
This track focuses on the social determinants of health and systematic approaches to sustainable change through community engagement. The track is comprised of:
Location(s) of international program:
PGY1: Quito, Ecuador (Shoulder to Shoulder Global Partnership – 2 weeks)
PGY2: Quito, Ecuador (Shoulder to Shoulder Global Partnership – 2 weeks)
PGY3: Zimba, Zambia (4 weeks abroad)
Cost to individual resident: Each resident receives a $2,000 stipend allocated for global health rotation travel. Scholarly travel costs related to participation in Global Health track are provided by residency program.

Description of faculty involvement: Faculty provide longitudinal small group didactic session and self-study modules.
