Serve as a resource for medical students, family medicine residents and faculty, and AAFP members interested in practice enhancement and the activities of the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) when you join this Member Interst Group (MIG). Establish a collaborative learning and problem-solving environment focused on practice enhancement.

Objectives

  • Engage TCPI participating and non-participating members in discussions regarding changes needed to be positioned for alternative payment models.

  • Share learnings from TCPI and facilitate discussion regarding how such learnings may be implemented in the various practice environments.

  • Connect members and develop an on-line collaborative learning and problem-solving forum.

  • Assist the AAFP in membership recruitment and retention of family physicians by providing resources for members interested in TCPI.

  • Assist the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in membership recruitment and retention of family physicians who are interested in transforming clinical practices.

Long-term Goals

  • Establish a collaborative learning and problem-solving environment focused on practice enhancement.

  • Provide opportunities for members from various regions with similar interests, goals, and challenges to connect in support of practice enhancement initiatives.

  • Be a resource for medical students, family medicine residents and faculty, and AAFP members interested in practice enhancement and the activities of the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI).

  • Share learnings from the TCPI project to all interested members and provide a forum for discussion of the practical application of those learnings.
