PROBLEM-ORIENTED DIAGNOSIS Abnormal Uterine Bleeding In women of childbearing age who have abnormal uterine bleeding, a careful history, physical examination, and laboratory evaluation may rule out etiologies such as pregnancy, medications, iatrogenic causes, systemic conditions, and genital tract pathology. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (anovulatory or ovulatory) is diagnosed by exclusion of these causes. |
