Infection KARL E. MILLER, M.D. Chlamydia trachomatis infection commonly affects
the urogenital tract but can cause conjunctivitis and pneumonia in infants. In
men, the infection usually is symptomatic, with dysuria and a discharge from
the penis; women usually have minimal or no symptoms, but some develop pelvic
inflammatory disease. Treatment depends on the site of the infection, the age
of the patient, and whether or not the infection is complicated.
