| 841 | Disaster-Related Physical and Mental Health: A Role for the Family
Physician JOHN R. FREEDY, M.D., PH.D., and WILLIAM M. SIMPSON, JR., M.D. The use of primary health care
services increases for 12 or more months following a major disaster. It is
important for physicians to understand individual and environmental risk
factors that influence post-disaster health, as well as educate themselves
regarding disaster-related health threats.

| 849 | Infertility ALAINA B. JOSE-MILLER, M.D., JENNIFER W. BOYDEN, M.D., and KEITH A. FREY, M.D. Major causes of infertility
include male factors, ovarian dysfunction, tubal disease, endometriosis, and
uterine or cervical factors. To successfully treat infertility, physicians must

| 859 | Diagnosis and Treatment of Impetigo CHARLES COLE, M.D., and JOHN GAZEWOOD, M.D., M.S.P.H. Although impetigo usually heals

| 869 | Common Spider Bites JAMES H. DIAZ, M.D., DR.P.H., M.P.H.T.M., and KIM EDWARD LEBLANC, M.D., PH.D. Although most spider bites are
harmless, some spiders produce toxic venom that can cause skin lesions,
systemic illnesses, and neurotoxicity. Some of the more common venomous bites
are inflicted by widow and recluse spiders. Early species identification and
specific management can prevent most serious sequelae of these bites.

| 875 | Prevention and Management of Postpartum Hemorrhage JANICE M. ANDERSON, M.D., and DUNCAN ETCHES, M.D., M.CL.SC. Although risk factors have been
identified, postpartum hemorrhage may occur in women with no risk factors, so
physicians must be prepared to manage this condition at every delivery. A
methodical examination is required to diagnose and manage the specific cause.
