AMER SHAKIL, MD; ROBERT J. CHURCH, MD; and SHOBHA S. RAO, MD
Gastrointestinal complications of
diabetes, including gastroparesis, intestinal enteropathy, and nonalcoholic

possible, patients should discontinue medications that aggravate gastric
dysmotility; control blood glucose levels; increase liquid consumption; eat
smaller meals more often; discontinue use of tobacco products; and reduce
intake of insoluble fiber, foods high in fat, and alcohol.
