CAM Glucosamine is a popular dietary supplement used to treat osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee. Although study results have been conflicting, there is no clear evidence to recommend against its use. It is reasonable to support a 60-day trial of glucosamine sulfate, especially in patients at risk of secondary effects from other accepted treatment regimens.
