The article, “Recognition and Management of Vitamin D Deficiency,” (October 15, 2009, page 841) incorrectly listed falls as the leading cause of death among persons 65 years and older in the first column on page 843. Falls are the leading cause of injury death among this population. The sentence should have read as follows: “Falls are the leading cause of injury death among persons 65 years and older, and more than 33 percent of this population in the United States fall every year.11” The online version of this article has been corrected.
