The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms of screening for peripheral artery disease (PAD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk assessment with the ankle-brachial index (ABI) in adults.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in asymptomatic pregnant women after 24 weeks of gestation.

Primary Care Interventions to Prevent Tobacco Use in Children and Adolescents: Recommendation Statement
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends that primary care clinicians provide interventions, including education or brief counseling, to prevent initiation of tobacco use in school-aged children and adolescents.

Medications for Risk Reduction of Primary Breast Cancer in Women: Recommendation Statement
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends that clinicians engage in shared, informed decision making with women who are at increased risk of breast cancer about medications to reduce their risk. For women who are at increased risk of breast cancer and at low risk of adverse medication effects, clinicians should offer to prescribe risk-reducing medications, such as tamoxifen or raloxifene.

Screening for Hepatitis C Virus Infection in Adults: Recommendation Statement
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in persons at high risk of infection. The USPSTF also recommends offering one-time screening for HCV infection to adults born between 1945 and 1965.

Primary Care Interventions to Prevent Child Maltreatment: Recommendation Statement
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms of primary care interventions to prevent child maltreatment. This recommendation applies to children who do not have signs or symptoms of maltreatment.

Screening for Lung Cancer: Recommendation Statement
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends annual screening for lung cancer with low-dose computed tomography (CT) in adults 55 to 80 years of age who have a 30 pack-year smoking history and currently smoke or quit within the past 15 years.

Screening and Behavioral Counseling Interventions in Primary Care to Reduce Alcohol Misuse: Recommendation Statement
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends that clinicians screen adults 18 years or older for alcohol misuse and provide persons engaged in risky or hazardous drinking with brief behavioral counseling interventions to reduce alcohol misuse.
