CDC Issues Recommendations for Diagnosing, Managing, and Reporting Foodborne Illnesses
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued new recommendations for diagnosing, managing, and reporting foodborne illnesses, in collaboration with the American Medical Association (AMA), American Nurses Association-American Nurse Foundation (ANA-ANF), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA's) Center for Food Safety and Nutrition (CFSAN), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA's) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

Hospital Stay for Healthy Term Newborns
The Committee on Fetus and Newborn of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has released a policy statement on the length of hospital stays for healthy term newborns. The hospital stay of the mother-infant dyad should be long enough to allow identification of early problems and to ensure that the family is able and prepared to care for the infant at home.
