We apply a family medicine approach to the care of hospitalized adult patients with diverse medical & surgical problems. Students function at the sub-intern level as integral members of the multidisciplinary inpatient team. Students serve as the primary physician throughtout the hospital stay for 2-4 patients, providing first-line contact with patients, families and consultants. There are structured teaching rounds daily with the attending faculty.
