We apply a family medicine apporach to the care of hospitalized adult patients with diverse medical & surgical problems. Students function at the sub-intern level as integral members of the multidisciplinary inpatient team. Students serve as the primary physicians throughout the hospital stay for 2-4 patients, providing first-line contact with patients, families and consultants. There are sturctured teaching rounds daily with the attending faculty.
