An exploration of clinical decision making that is designed to expose the student to the basic concepts of decision analysis, to their application in the clinic, and to the research methods of the field. Student may focus on a topic in the psychology of medical decision making, formal decision analysis (cost effectiveness or expected utility), or shared (informed) decision making (providing information about decision to patient). The purpose of this elective is to allow the student to spend a period of time in full-time study working directly with a faculty member to further enhance the student's clinical and/or research skills.
