Comments:
Number of students is variable. The student may choose a 2 to 4 week rotation in the inpatient setting covering the full scope of family medicine. The student is supervised by faculty or a 3rd year family medicine resident and works as an acting intern. The student will care for 2 to 6 patients, depending on ability and severity of patients' illness in the hospital setting. The student will be involved in admission, continued care and discharges and performing procedures with supervision.

Comments:
Number of Student is variable. Students may choose a 2 to 4 week rotation in the outpatient setting that provides the full scope of family medicine. The student is assigned a faculty preceptor that they will work with the majority of the time in the outpatient clinic. They will attend conferences on Wednesday mornings with the residents and twice a month they have a 1 1/2 hour hands-on workshop with other medical students learning casting and splinting, and suturing.
