Day 1 Speaker: J. Nwando Olayiwola, MD, MPH, FAAFP

Thursday, August 1 | 2:45–4 p.m.

Dr. Olayiwola is an experienced, accomplished, and transformational primary care physician. She currently serves as the inaugural Chief Health Equity Officer and Senior Vice President of Humana, Inc., a role she commenced in April 2021. Prior to this, she served as the Professor and Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Chief of Family Health Services at The Ohio State University, where she also founded the Center for Primary Care Innovation and Transformation.

In addition to being a public health professional, savvy business leader, and DEI champion, she’s a tireless advocate for women across the globe and contributes to or designs numerous highly impactful programs that improve the lives and health of women.

In October 2022, she was inducted into the National Academy of Medicine, one of the most prestigious honors in health care.

Day 2 Speaker: Alex Sheen

Friday, August 2 | 9–10:15 a.m.

Alex Sheen is the founder of because I said I would, a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to bettering humanity through promises made and kept. Sparked by the loss of his father, Alex and his organization send “promise cards” to anyone anywhere in the world at no cost.

Alex is someone who truly honors commitment. He once walked over 240 miles across the entire state of Ohio in 10 days to fulfill a promise.

In just two years, because I said I would has sent over 9.81 million promise cards to over 153 different countries. The promises written on these cards have made headlines around the world. His charitable projects and awareness campaigns have been featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, CNN, The Today Show, NPR, The Los Angeles Times, and many other programs.
