Dr. Brideau is a chief medical officer at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and practices family medicine in Alexandria, VA. He has been teaching for 20 years and specializes in tobacco dependence, cosmetic procedures of lasers, fillers, and botulinum toxin, and becoming a lean mentor. He says that more and more cosmetic services can be performed with lasers and that, depending on the demographics of the practice, having a large office population can make the expense worthwhile. On the topic of smoking cessation, he recommends the AAFP’s new Office Champion Program with specific education available to “any champion” within the office, not just the physicians. Dr. Brideau is an AAFP Fellow. He also has a Masters in Medical Management (MMM) from Carnegie Mellon University.
