Dr. Flanagan co-founded the first direct primary care (DPC) practice in Colorado. Nextera has grown to three hybrid clinics in the Boulder area and expanded their Nextera Healthcare provider network to one of the largest in the country. This year, Nextera Healthcare will be offered on Colorado's Health Insurance Exchange. Dr. Flanagan regularly contributes to policy discussions at the state and federal level to ensure health care providers have the opportunity to deliver high-quality, affordable, and accessible care to families and businesses. He has been invited to present his insights on the emergence and implementation of DPC to a wide range of groups, including medical students, residents, professional associations, and the White House. Dr. Flanagan serves on the board of LiveWell Longmont, an initiative that advances healthy lifestyles by making convenient health and wellness resources available to the community.
