Trained as a family therapist and health psychologist, Dr. Fraser is a licensed counseling psychologist and behavioral medicine coordinator in a family medicine residency program in Daytona Beach, FL. She has been teaching for 18 years. Her specialty topics include cultural competency in health care, relaxation therapies, eating disorders, and the physician/patient relationship. Dr. Fraser was appointed to be a small-group mentor in the Behavioral Science/Family Systems Educator Fellowship program through the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. She believes the most important trend in the area of cultural competency in health care is trying to combat the inequities and health disparities created by racial, class, and socioeconomic differences in our population.
