Dr. LeFevre spends about 40 percent of his time in direct patient care, practicing the full breadth of family medicine, including inpatient and until recently obstetrics. Much of his emphasis in scholarly work has been in the area of evidence-based medicine and practice guidelines. He is currently the chair of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and served on the Joint National Conference on the Prevention, Detection and Treatment of Hypertension (JNC 8). In 2011, he was named to the Institute of Medicine. He has spoken widely on evidence based preventive services.
