Dr. Steinmetz has practiced integrative medicine for the past 17 years. Patients in her Alexandria, Virginia, practice include those with preventive service needs, as well as those with complex chronic conditions. Dr. Steinmetz recently completed a fellowship in integrative medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona. In her practice, Dr. Steinmetz uses a range of treatment options, including acupuncture; Western and Chinese herbs; mind-body techniques; manipulation; nutritional services; and functional medicine. She teaches medical students, family medicine residents, and colleagues from around the country. Dr. Steinmetz writes a health column for the Alexandria Times. In March, she was named one of Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors for 2014.
