Dr. Heidelbaugh is a family physician in the departments of family medicine and urology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. He has taught for 16 years and currently serves as the M3 Clerkship Director. His specialty topics include men's health and gastrointestinal disorders. He is the lead author on the University of Michigan Clinical Guideline for gastroesophageal reflux disease, and is on the American Gastroenterological Association guideline panels for irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and Lynch syndrome. He is the consulting editor of Primary Care Clinics in Office Practice, as well as the current General Secretary/Treasurer of the American Society of Men's Health. He believes that increasing awareness and education of gastrointestinal and men's health issues is an important trend in medical education, clinical practice, and research.
