Peter Ziemkowski, MD

Dr. Ziemkowski is a graduate of theUniversity, East Lansing, and an internship in emergency medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and St. Joseph Hospital. Dr. Ziemkowski practices family medicine in southwest Michigan, where he is on the faculty of the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker, MD, School of Medicine’s Family Medicine Residency Program and serves as associate dean for Student Affairs. He has been teaching for 19 years and maintains a blog for residents(, and looks to use technology to help educate patients on healthy lifestyles. Dr. Ziemkowski’s clinical interests include the care of metabolic conditions associated with cardiovascular risk, such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, and obesity. He believes that primary prevention of these diseases and their complications will deliver the greatest benefit to the greatest number of patients.
