The fellowship is a junior faculty position designed to enhance skills in teaching, scholarly activities, and administration. The fellows rotate as junior faculty on both inpatient obstetrics and medicine services, as well as maintaining an urban-based community clinic. Lancaster General Hospital's Family Practice Residency is one of the oldest and most-respected programs in the US. The program has 39 residents and there are two ambulatory care units. The program is affiliated with the Temple University School of Medicine.
