Prerequisites for Acceptance:
A) Residency-trained family physicians in their first three years of full-time teaching. B) Plan a continued career in academic family medicine. C) Demonstrate strong personal interest in teaching and research, and evidence of the basic skills needed to begin a successful career in these areas. D) US citizen or permanent resident and board certified in family practice.

Comments:
This program has introduced over 400 young faculty members to the academic role. Fellows remain in their current positions while spending 6 weeks during the year in Chapel Hill. This time is devoted to intensive instruction in academic skills which are put into practice through a series of projects completed at fellows' parent locations under faculty supervision.
