Prerequisites for Acceptance:
A one or two year program is available for physicians who have graduated from an ACGME-accredited internal medicine/family practice program. Candidates must fulfill citizenship, residency, visa, and/or licensure requirements for the Geriatric Fellowship Program and the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners.Application Deadline: 01/30/08

This 1-year geriatric fellowship focuses on clinical geriatric medicine, providing a unique clinical experience at Sun Health, with its two community hospitals, in an exclusive geriatric community in the Sun Cities. Academic training is also acquired at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, the parent organization from which the fellowship is accredited. A comprehensive geratric assessment outpatient clinic and inpatient geriatric service as well as exposure to all components of long-term care and subacute (including dementia care-related facilities) are highlights of the program. Potential junior faculty (second-year fellow) research positions available.
