Prerequisites for Acceptance:
For residency-trained family physicians, general internists, and general pediatricians with strong clinical research career commitment (with health disparity focus) who are board eligible or certified in their discipline. Clinical Research Fellowship in Health Disparity-National Research Service Award (NRSA) fellowship (2 or 3 years). Base in NIH research-intensive environment, rich in resources and collaborators for new investigators and emphasizing minority recruitment & retention. Complete pilot projects and publication to become qualified for career development (K23) award with in 3 years. NRSA stipend is supplemented by $30,000.
