"Patient-Centered Care" develops research skills to study interactions between health care practitioners and patients. "Risk Behaviors in the Deaf Population" teaches the adeptation of survey instruments for use in American Sign Language to study the health risks and diseases of people who are deaf. Both prepare for successful applications for NIH Career Developemnt Awards and subsequently to Research Project Grant Awards (ROI).
