Prerequisites for Acceptance:
Completion of 3 year Family Medicine residency including training/competency in normal vaginal delivery and newborn care.

Comments:
The 2-year Maternal and Child Health fellowship provides advance clinical training in maternal and newborn care for rural practice or academic settings. Fellows are trained in cesarean delivery, tubal ligation, newborn resuscitation/stabiliztion, operation viginal delivery, abortion care (optional), vasectomy, first trimester OB ultrasound, colopscopy and care of complicated obstetric patients. Research training is available. Fellows receive a certificate in public health based on coursework (MPH optional).
