Prerequisites for Acceptance:
MD or DO degree. Active NJ medical license. US citizen. Completion of a family practice residency program. The applicant/candidate will have exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. He/she must accept guidance well, possess good judgement, and be an assertive adult lerner in order to optimize the experience.

The health policy fellow serves as both aide and advisor to the chair of a New Jersey State Legislative Health Committee. The fellow will have a unique opportunity to obtain hands-on experience informing the policy making process. An emphasis is placed on the rigorous, day-to-day aspects of the legislative process in the dynamic environment of the State House. The health policy fellow will be called upon to serve various legislative and health care issues. Fellowship length can range from 12-18 months.
