Prerequisites for Acceptance:
Fellowship applicants should have completed a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency program and be board-certified or board-eligible with certification pending. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in teaching and clinical care. They should have a DEA license and an unrestricted California Medical License by the time of the start of the program. The Sutter Medical Center Hospitalist Fellowship is a one-year program, which provides a rich educational experience for graduates of either Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency programs. The primary goal is to provide fellows with advanced skills and confidence by which they may provide outstanding and comprehensive inpatient care and become superior clinician-educators. The fellowship will provide fellows with recognizable skills and enhance their value as they enter competitive hospitalist job markets. The Sutter Medical Center is a recognized tertiary community hospital within a sophisticated integrated health care system.
