Fam Pract Manag. 2016 Jan-Feb;23(1):4.

We're excited to introduce the new and improved Family Practice Management (FPM) website. More than a year in the making, the redesigned website offers an easy way to page through a recent issue of the journal, browse content on popular topics, and access key sections of the website such as the Toolbox and CME Quiz. Using responsive design, the website adjusts to your device, whether you're reading on a desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Key changes

Here's a quick tour of some of the key changes, starting with the FPM home page.

1. Quickly access key sections of the website such as past Issues of the journal, the FPM Toolbox, and the CME Quiz – all featured at the top of every page.

2. Click the star icon located at the top or bottom of a page to save that page to your Favorites. You'll have easy access to your favorite pages every time you visit our website – on any device.

3. Sign in for full access to the website, and check “keep me logged in” so you never have to log in again.

4. Browse Topic Collections on popular topics such as Coding and Life Balance, and quickly see which articles are new or contain a “tool” or other resource you can download.

5. Get easy access to the full contents of the latest issue of the journal.

6. Watch author videos that expand on the articles.

7. Browse your favorite FPM departments such as Practice Pearls, and narrow the list of articles by topic.

8. Click “Options” to search by title, author, etc., for better results.

9. Quickly navigate to the next article in an issue, the previous article, or the full table of contents.

10. Download a pdf, print an article, post a comment, add a page to your Favorites, or share an article.

11. Go straight to the issue's CME Quiz, or see how many credits you've already claimed.

12. Find more articles like the one you're currently reading.

13. Access topic and department collections curated by the editors.

14. Browse everything FPM has published on a given topic.

What hasn't changed

The FPM website has come a long way since we launched it in 1997. But what hasn't changed is the quality and usefulness of the content. You can still access articles from those early days in our online archives (much of it as relevant today as when it was published), and we're always adding new content filled with practical ideas to help you manage your patients, practice, and career.

We hope the latest iteration of our website serves you well. We promise to keep improving, so you'll want to visit often. Be sure to check out our sister journal American Family Physician's website as well to see similar website enhancements.
