What's Bugging You? Maybe FPM Can Help
Since Family Practice Management exists to make life easier for you in a number of ways, we're eager to know what's currently giving you a hard time. If it's something that expert advice could help, we may be able to find the expert (sometimes even here within the AAFP) and capture the advice you need in an article.
Robert L. Edsall
Of course, we can help only with problems that fall within the scope of our mission, but that's a pretty broad scope: FPM aims to cover everything in your professional life except the strictly clinical. While the name of the journal identifies the core of our subject matter -- practice management for family physicians -- it may sometimes obscure the range of topics we cover, which includes everything from balancing practice and family through optimizing patient relations to the more conventional "management" topics such as documentation and coding, malpractice, strategic planning and the like. And we get as close to the purely clinical as patient education, techniques for cost-effective care, clinical guidelines, quality improvement and disease management.
So, is there an article you'd like to see in FPM? More, is there an article you need to see in FPM? Chances are you're not alone, and we may well be able to accommodate you. Here's your chance to speak up. Just jot your suggestion below and fax back a copy of this page, or mail it to me, or send me an E-mail message. The contact information you need for your response is below.
