ACF 2002: cancer materials

AAFP's 2002 Annual Clinical Focus on cancer offers Academy members up-to-date patient education materials and CME opportunities designed to improve prevention and detection efforts, as well as to help navigate the tricky terrain of dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Here's what you can expect:

• Online video CME program -- "Cancer: Supporting Patients and Families," available at http://www.aafp.org/acf/2002/services.html
• American Family Physician monograph -- "Cancer Care in Family Practice," scheduled for distribution to active members this month
• Chapter Lecture Series programs -- "Lung Cancer: Prevention, Detection and Treatment" and "Colon Cancer: Early Detection and Treatment," available by calling (800) 274-2237, Ext. 6532
• Twelve patient education handouts, scheduled to be posted online this summer at http://www.aafp.org/acf/2002/ -- click on "Products & Services."
• CME audio conference -- "Lung Cancer: Prevention, Detection and Treatment," currently in development
