Proposed Bylaws amendments now online
The Congress of Delegates will
consider three amendments to the AAFP Bylaws during its meeting Sept. 30
Oct. 2 in New Orleans. The proposed amendments call for these changes:
- Remove from the Bylaws outdated criteria for the degree of Fellow in
the AAFP.
- Eliminate outdated provisions for delegates for the women's constituency
(the women's delegation was discontinued last year).
- Change Bylaws terminology from CME hours
to CME credits. The AAFP
Board of Directors has determined that the customary "time spent" fits such
CME activities as lectures and enduring materials but may not reflect the
value of new learning processes such as quality improvement, performance
measurement and point-of-care activities.
