Academy bestows honors and awards on its members and others during the Annual
Assembly. The following awards were presented during the 2004 Assembly.

- John G. Walsh Award for Lifetime Contributions to Family

- Thomas W. Johnson Award for Career Contributions to Family
Medicine Education -- Alfred Berg, M.D., M.P.H., of Seattle
- Exemplary Teaching Awards -- Wanda Gonsalves, M.D., of Mount
Pleasant, S.C. (full-time faculty); William Mebane III, M.D., of Wyndmoor, Pa.
(part-time faculty); and Daniel Spogen, M.D., of Sparks, Nev. (volunteer
faculty)
- Public Health Award -- Bruce "Ned" Calonge, M.D.,
of Denver
- Robert Graham Family Physician Executive Award -- Bruce
