Task force to explore quality issues

A new AAFP ad hoc task force will meet for two days early next year to explore quality issues.

The Ad Hoc Task Force on Quality Measurement and Improvement will examine ways to assess and improve physician performance, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction. The task force will then make recommendations to the AAFP Board of Directors on:

The AAFP commissions on Quality and Scope of Practice, Health Care Services, and Clinical Policies and Research recommended that the task force be formed. The Board decided during its August meeting to create the ad hoc group.

The task force members, not yet named, are expected to suggest how the Academy can lead the "quality charge" both internally, with members, and externally, with payers and quality regulators.
