Old textbooks bring new data to family physicians abroad

Tired of lugging those old medical books with you whenever you switch apartments? Let Heart to Heart International, the AAFP, and the AAFP Foundation--Physicians With Heart--take them off your hands and give them to needy family physicians around the world.

The first voluntary book drive to collect certain new or used medical textbooks will be held during the National Congress of Family Practice Residents and the National Congress of Student Members July 31-Aug. 3 in Kansas City, MO.

Staff from Heart to Heart International will collect medical text books at a booth on the main meeting floor. All books must be in good condition and within five years of publication. For more information, please contact the AAFP's Karen DiVita through e-mail at fp@aafp.org or by phone at (800) 274-2237, ext. 5207. A complete list of requested textbooks is available via AAFP Express--the Academy's fax-back system--by calling (800) AAFP EXP [223-7397] and requesting document #3008.
