FMIG leaders, here's a bookful of hot tips
If you're the new head of your family medicine interest group, you may be wondering how you'll fund your FMIG's projects and delegate well enough to make your brilliant ideas a reality.
The newly revised Family Medicine Interest Group Manual has answers for you. For example, it tells of seven different sources of funds and gives tips on sharing responsibility, such as "Delegating is often easier said than done."
The manual gives an FMIG timeline, programming suggestions, and a step-by-step guide to successful events. The 21-page book, with about 20 pages of appendices, was prepared by former FMIG leaders who want to help you make the most of your year.
To obtain the manual, let your regional FMIG coordinator know you're the new FMIG leader. The coordinator will have the AAFP put you on the FMIG mailing list, and you'll soon receive the manual, the quarterly newsletter The Exchange, and other regular mailings.
If you don't know how to contact your regional coordinator, call Janet Nicholson in the AAFP Education Division at (800) 274-2237, ext. 5226.
