'Cuddles for Kids' to assist needy children in Chicago during Assembly

Academy members and their families can spread some hugs and smiles during the 1997 Scientific Assembly, Sept. 17-21.

For the sixth straight year, the Academy is sponsoring Feed the Need to help hungry and homeless people in the Assembly's host city. This year, the Academy will reach out to needy children by distributing new and like-new stuffed animals through the AAFP's new Cuddles for Kids--in Chicago.

"We're encouraging members and their families to bring a stuffed toy that they have purchased or brought from home for a needy child in Chicago," says Melody Conreaux-Goller, AAFP's Feed the Need coordinator. "We hope this will help members' children get involved in the Assembly and feel good about helping others too."

The toys will be collected in the convention center during the Assembly. For more information, contact Ms. Conreaux-Goller at (800) 274-2237, ext. 3412.
