NCFPR/NCSM offers chances to learn, network, volunteer
If seminars called "Coed Nekkid Stress Management," "Community-Oriented Primary Care," and "Things They Don't Teach in Medical School" pique your interest, plan now to make tracks to Kansas City, MO, July 31-Aug. 3, and attend the National Congress of Family Practice Residents and the National Congress of Student Members (NCFPR/NCSM).
Included in this year's schedule are leadership training workshops, procedural skills courses ranging from casting and splinting to suturing, and plenty of networking opportunities.
James Jones, MD, of Chapel Hill, NC, will deliver this year's Stephen Jackson, MD, Memorial Lecture during the opening session. Dr. Jones has been a key leader in addressing Native American health care.
Participants will get a chance to develop resolutions during business sessions that may influence Academy policy.
In addition, the meeting will offer volunteer opportunities for attendees and guests. You may donate a pint of blood, provide a textbook for a family physician halfway around the world, serve food to the homeless, or help build a house with Habitat for Humanity.
