- Educate your patients. AAFP's best-selling patient education brochure series (Health Notes) has a new name: AAFP Family Health Facts. The 60-item series includes new brochures on drug abuse, prostate cancer, heart disease, hormone replacement therapy and pain relievers. The National HIV Telephone Consultation Service -- at (800) 933-3413 -- has medical staff answering the phone from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST Monday through Friday and has around-the-clock voice mail. This free service responds to questions about patient care and needle stick concerns for providers.
- Read AAFP policies in the making. Track AAFP policies as they evolve by requesting the 1999 Congress of Delegates Handbook. AAFP leaders, delegates and alternates receive the handbook free. Others may buy it for $35 by calling (800) 274-2237, Ext. 2312.
