Top Schools from Previous Years

Each year, the American Academy of Family Physicians recognizes a select number of medical schools for making strong contributions to the family medicine workforce. Top schools from years past can be found below. From 2007 to 2015, allopathic institutions that made the annual top schools list were presented with a Top Ten award. Starting in 2016, the contributions of both allopathic and osteopathic medical schools are acknowledged in this archive.

All percentages are based on a three-year rolling average of medical students matriculating to family medicine residencies. For example, the 2016 results were based on family medicine matriculation rates for students who graduated in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
