Could your patient-centered medical home (PCMH) practice operate more efficiently with better-designed clinic space? Most family physicians likely would answer "yes," and many would like advice on how to move forward with such practice design changes.
Help is on the way via a free webinar on May 29 from 1-2 p.m. CDT. The webinar, Clinical Office Design Elements of a PCMH …Putting the Pieces of the Puzzle Together, will be offered by TransforMED's Delta-Exchange network. AAFP members have free access to the Delta-Exchange network, but they need to join and register for the event.
The webinar will focus on how minor changes made to existing practice space can improve office efficiency, staff teamwork and patient flow. Webinar co-hosts Stephanie Plumb, M.B.A., and Rod Corn will identify office design concepts and interior modifications that support a PCMH practice.
Plumb, a registered health information administrator and TransforMED consultant, and Corn, director of health care initiatives at ACI-Boland Architects, will walk participants through two ambulatory clinic models to help fuel their imaginations about what might be possible within their own practices.
The webinar hosts will show participants how to revamp an existing clinic to better meet the needs of a PCMH team. In addition, Plumb and Corn will show physicians how to design the interior of a new clinic from the ground up.
A brief question-and-answer period will close the webinar. An archived version of the webinar will be available on Delta-Exchange following the live event.
