AAFP Congress of Delegates Charts Course, Elects Officers

The AAFP Congress of Delegates worked diligently on your behalf taking action on a multitude of important issues, October 12 - 14 in Boston. Notably, the Congress adopted resolutions that call for the Academy to support primary care extension programs, enhanced Medicare drug coverage and federal legislation that would ensure medical care in Patient-Centered Medical Homes is directed by primary care physicians. The delegates also reaffirmed the Academy's policy on graduate medical education funding, stipulating that further work hours changes should be evidence-based. New leaders were elected to serve on the Board of Directors and Roland Goertz, M.D., M.B.A., was selected as President-elect.
