At the request of the U.S. Department of State, the Physicians With Heart partnership will return to the former Soviet Republic of Kyrgyzstan for its annual humanitarian project in 2008. A team of volunteers will accompany a valuable shipment of pharmaceuticals, medical instruments and supplies to document the safe arrival of the medical aid at recipient hospitals. They will also participate in educational initiatives that promote family medicine as well as maternal health. In addition, several volunteers will lead a project aimed at improving the quality of life for Kyrgyz children.
