Honorary Membership

Created: 1947

Designated by the Congress of Delegates for persons of distinction who have rendered outstanding service to the AAFP or the medical profession, or for distinguished members of the AAFP who have retired from practice. Honorary members shall be entitled to the privilege of the floor of the Assembly but shall not be entitled to vote, and they shall pay no dues or admission fee and shall have no right, title, or interest in any of the property of the Academy. Constituent chapters may not confer honorary membership but may propose candidates for honorary membership to the AAFP.
