Outstanding Service Award

Created: 1993

This award is the Academy's highest recognition for vendors, suppliers, and companies that support the medical profession or their employees, and members of the AAFP national staff who have fostered the mission of family medicine and the Academy through contributions of time, effort or resources. Such contributions could either be made over time or through a single significant effort. Process and timing

When an Outstanding Service Award is approved for presentation, the Staff Award Coordinator will:
  • prepare the congratulatory letter to the recipient and notify constituent chapters over EVP signature with copy to EVP Executive Assistant
  • coordinate travel arrangements
  • order award (framed certificate)
The Public Relations Staff will:
  • prepare news script to be used at award presentation
  • provide a release template on the AAFP Web page with links to Award descriptions and a sample release for use by the recipient
