Student Research Externship Matching Grants Program

The AAFP Foundation will provide 50 percent ($1,250) of the funds required for research externships on a matching grant basis. Externships provide a combined stipend of $2,000 and an additional $500 grant is made to the mentoring physician.

The goals of the program are to stimulate in family medicine and/or family medicine research. Medical students should contact their state chapters to determine if that chapter participates in this program.

Deadline for submission: First week in February
Letter of intent is accepted from AAFP chapter only. Visit the AAFP Foundation Web site for detailed program description and the Letter of Intent Form that must be submitted.
