To help support the AAFP’s legislative advocacy agenda, we are inviting health care consumers to advocate for issues of importance to family medicine. The AAFP’s consumer Web site, familydoctor.org, touches more than 3 million health care consumers a month. We will leverage this connection by building an advocacy center to recruit a cadre of motivated consumers who will advocate on the issues that speak to them and support family medicine.
The soft launch of the advocacy center (Family Health Advocate) occurred in November. A survey is currently posted on familydoctor.org asking visitors what topics related to health care are of the most interest to them. Results from the survey will help us identify those items on the Academy’s agenda that overlap with the interests of visitors to the site.
